…The Italian Conductor, Aurelio Canonici, invited to conduct Verdi’s opera, carried out this task in an excellent manner, conferring on each episode the most appropriate tempo and character and also producing a range of colourful effects with a richness of inner life and dynamism. Under his baton the Krakow Opera Orchestra was able to perform with great beauty and precision, and this perfection was also seen in the Choir’s performance.
